Cyberpunk 2077 went from one of the most anticipated games of the decade to one of the most infamous launches. But fast-forward to today — after dozens of patches and a massive overhaul with version 2.0 — and we’re looking at a redemption arc few expected.

So what changed?

1. Stability and Performance

On launch, the game was plagued with bugs, crashes, and visual glitches — especially on older consoles. Today, the game is vastly more stable. Bugs are rare, textures load properly, and it finally feels like a polished AAA title.

2. Combat and AI Overhaul (v2.0)

NPC combatants are now smarter and more responsive. Enemies use cover more intelligently, and police response systems have been reworked — now they escalate reasonably, with car chases and NCPD tactics.

3. New Skill Tree and Perks

The old perk system felt bloated and unimpactful. With 2.0, perks have been fully reimagined. You now make real decisions: do you want to specialize in throwing knives, cyberware hacking, or katana rampages? Your choices shape your entire build.

4. Vehicle Combat & Improvements

Yes — you can now shoot while driving and engage in dynamic car chases. Vehicles themselves handle better and feel less floaty, finally matching the game’s visual polish.

5. Phantom Liberty DLC

This expansion brought not just a gripping spy-thriller storyline, but also improved stealth mechanics, new weapons, and a new zone (Dogtown) full of content.

Cyberpunk isn’t just “fixed” — it’s evolved. Now, it actually feels like the world it promised in the trailers.
